The Pigment Control Serum takes a measured approach. Alpha-Arbutin interrupts excess melanin production at the melanocyte level — the source of the pigmentation, not just the surface. Bidens Pilosa Extract and Ascophyllum Nodosum (seaweed) extract work alongside it to promote a clearer, more even complexion. Sodium PCA maintains the skin's natural moisture balance throughout the process.

How to Use
Daily — Evening
Cleanse with Daily Control Cleanser use in the evening.
Dispense 3–4 drops onto fingertips.
Press gently into areas of dark spots or uneven tone do not rub.
Follow with Deep Hydration Cream to lock in the actives.
Use consistently for at least 4–6 weeks, and always apply Active Shield SPF50 the following morning.
Important: UV creates new pigmentation faster than any serum can fade old spots. Treating hyperpigmentation without daily SPF is spending money to stand still. The two work as a pair or not at all.

How is this different from the Brightening C Serum?
The Brightening C Serum uses Vitamin C to brighten overall tone and prevent new spots. This Pigment Control Serum uses Alpha-Arbutin to fade existing spots at the melanocyte level. They work through different pathways and are most effective paired which is why the Dark Spot Duo bundles them.
Is this safe for darker skin tones?
Yes Alpha-Arbutin is one of the safest brightening actives for all skin tones. Unlike hydroquinone, it doesn't carry the risk of paradoxical darkening or uneven bleaching on melanin-rich skin. It's specifically recommended by dermatologists for men of colour dealing with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Can I use this with the AHA Peeling Concentrate?
Yes, but on different nights. The AHA removes the pigmented dead cell layer, while this serum interrupts melanin production at the source. Together they accelerate fading from both directions. Use the AHA 1–2 nights per week, this serum on the other evenings.
Why is SPF so important when using this?
UV exposure is the primary trigger for melanin overproduction. If you're treating dark spots at night but not wearing SPF the next day, the sun creates new pigmentation faster than this serum can fade it. SPF isn't optional when treating hyperpigmentation it's essential. Read more in The Lab.
